

It's going to be interesting to see what Sony do with Vegas, now it's part of Magix. Absolutely superb results possible, but again you do need to spend a bit of time learning how to use them (Avisynth is often criticised for being 'unfriendly' to learn). I tend to use another 'free' route, using programs like Avisynth and Virtualdub. and you do need a pretty powerful machine (64 bit for Resolve) to get the best out of these very sophisticated programs. Da Vinci Resolve is the second 'serious' pro style editor to offer a free version (the first being Lightworks -see here: Features )Īs with Lightworks, there is undoubtedly quite a learning curve involved with Resolve.
